Apparently DTN thinks that there is some validity to this website because they have begun hiring people to leave fictitious comments! Sneaky and underhanded? Absolutely! Unfortunately, this is norm for DTN Management Company.

You've VotedRATE THIS COMMENTI lived in Auburn Hills for three years. I would recommend against it. The property is managed by Abbot Pointe's management. I ran into several problems with the rental office loosing my rent check, trying to threaten me with late fees, and then later finding the check after I had paid to have the check cancelled. They also lost my pet deposit and tried to make me repay it which was NOT going to happen. Beyond that, my apartment was terrible. There was mold all over the bathroom. I used to leave messages for the health inspector when I knew they were coming threw regarding the mold (some black mold, I paid to have it inspected myself). DTN never fixed the mold. I would scrub it twice a week and the mold would come right back through the walls. It was apparent they had painted over the mold before I moved in. They were also extremely slow to fix anything - it took them two months to replace my broken air conditioner after daily calls. I also ended up needed a handicapped parking spot because I had been severely injured. They dragged their heels for weeks saying that request had to go through their headquarters so I finally involved an attorney and magically the handicapped sign was up the day after DTN heard from my attorney. I can also attest to the bugs. They come through the bathroom fixtures because the building is so old. There were spiders and centipedes all over my apartment. I do not know if all DTN properties are this bad but I would HIGHLY recommend against renting here.

You've VotedRATE THIS COMMENTSo, we were in a situation that we had no other choice since we moved in January this year. Living would be near very good, although pricey, BUT...their privacy politics is awful. Actually, we feel like we are living in kind of showroom. Every few days they are visiting our apartment with customers even if it's clear they'll not rent/buy this particular apartment. We suppose that the main reason for frequent visiting our apt are renovated kitchen and bathroom so they could easier rent some another apartment (cheating). Clearly, I do not count visits in order to fix or do something else in apt. You will often experience visits without previous call. Staff is being paid to do very bad job. Most reasonable and most pleasant person to communicate is Laura and I hope she'll run away from DTN asap.
P.S. Visits are covered by Contract, so there are no space to deal with this problem.
Will never live again in DTN property. - BUGS!!!!+1 votesS from Auburn Place - 2 years ago

You've VotedRATE THIS COMMENTLet me start by saying that I'm not one of those girls who screams and runs away when I see a bug.
I hoped that winter would stop the bugs in my apartment but it hasn't. There are always bugs crawling on my ceiling, floor and walls. Sometimes it's spiders and centipedes but usually it is lady bugs as strange as that sounds. They are cute until you find them crawling on your table when you are about to eat dinner.
I know these apartments are old and it comes with the territory but come on! - Like living in a cardboard box+4 votesAnon E. Mouse from Someplace - 2 years ago

You've VotedRATE THIS COMMENTLiving at Auburn Place could be compared to living in a cardboard box. The walls are just as thin and uninsulated and there is just as much hot water.
Here are the main reasons NOT to rent here.
1. The staff is rude and doesn't know much about their job or the policies of the property.
2. No matter when you take a shower you will go through at least 3 cycles of extreme hot and cold water. This gets VERY annoying. Is there one 30 gallon water heater supplying the entire complex??
3. Are the walls made out of tissue paper?! You can hear EVERYTHING... and I do mean everything that your neighbors do. This also includes the drunks in the hallway doing whatever they do. If you sit near any wall you will actually feel the wind coming through. This makes for some cold and expensive winters.
4. Overpriced. For what you get, it really isn't great, or even good.
5. At first maintenance will seem great until you have a real problem. Then you will be lucky if you get a visit, let alone, your problem fixed at all.
6. Parking does not exist. No matter what the office staff tells you, you will get one spot per apartment, there are no guest passes, and parking without a permit is NOT tolerated. I have heard other residents talk about how their friend's cars were towed while they were just visiting. They then had to pay several hundred dollars to get it back.
7. As soon as you move in, the office will try to get you to renew! If you don't renew, they threaten that you will have no privacy as they will start showing your apartment to customers immediately! If you renew, your service will turn to crap because they know they have you for at least two years and if you don't the same thing. It's lose/lose for the resident while DTN wins.
I would NEVER rent at this apartment again or any property managed by DTN! I hope that anyone reading this will seriously consider what I am saying. I read reviews just like this one when I was thinking about moving into Auburn Place and just ignored them and hoped they'd changed. They haven't!
