You've VotedRATE THIS COMMENTThe apartment that they will show u is not what u get. This place is poorly and cheaply built. In the winter the windows even have Ice on the inside of them. The apliences are very out dated along the rest of the kitchen and bathrooms. The parking lot is very poorly taken care of and the landscape well lets just say what landscape. They dont replace the carpet after tennents lweave and they allow dogs. So those who are alergic to dogs like my self are in for months of suffering. I wanted to break my lease after the first 2 weeks.

You've VotedRATE THIS COMMENTI have lived here at Alpine Slopes for about a year. When my lease was about up I decided to stay because the location is exactly what I need. I did however want to move apartments because I have one neighbor who harasses me on a daily basis. Her and I first got into when I moved in at 8pm on a Friday night, since then it has been noise complaint after noise complaint. I even got one against me while I was on vacation and there was no one in my apartment for a week. Crazy I know.
Anyway when I had three months left on my lease I let the manager know that I no longer needed a two bedroom but was willing to put down a deposit and get everything ready for me to transfer into a loft apartment. She told me that there would be no problem and not to worry about the deposit or anything like that, just come back with my thirty day and we would sign the necessary paperwork. So when I had thirty days left I went to the office and suddenly the apartment that I wanted was unavailable, but I could just go month to month in the apartment that I was in, mind you I would have to pay $50 extra as a pro rated fee. I don't think so. I told her that is fine I will be out by the time my lease is up. Less than an hour later she called me and said that they had an apartment available for me. Okay. I turned in my financial statements and all that good stuff. Two day later I took them my deposit and they informed me that I don't make enough money for the apartment that I want. The kicker here is that I am a student who pays her rent completely from student loans and pays it in full at the beginning of my lease. Still, I was refused. She did tell me that I qualify for the lowest one bedroom available. I told her that it was fine I can go to york creek and get the same thing for a lot less money and who knows maybe there are professional about the business that they run.
I would never reccomend this community to anybody. They give you the runaround and work at a speed that is convenient for them. Also maintenence lets themselves into you apartment and "fixes" things yet they need to be repaired two days later. Trust me you don't want to live here.Source: Apartment Ratings - Um...NO!+0 votes-Anonymous- from Someplace - 3 years ago

You've VotedRATE THIS COMMENTOk here's the deal. My car got broken into twice, and I don't even have anything worth stealing. But due to the fact that we were right next to ghetto york creek, it was bound to happen. So shame on me for not realizing that befor we moved in. Besides that the management stinks. I don't think they took the time to walk the property or they may have realized the crap everywhere. Like a tree they had cut down and left laying around for 6 months, seriously taking up an entire parking space. Or the piping and cable wires strewn about making me afraid to have my children walking around. Or my neighbors below me constantly throwing their beer cans and cigarette butts all over the lawn.
Not trying to be a hater here, but if you like the look of trash I would recommend Alpine Slopes. When I fist moved in early 2006, things seemed a little more well kept, like maybe management cared more. Obviously things have gone down hill since then. But I've moved so I'm over it.
On a good note, I did like the convenient location.Source: Apartment Ratings - Do Not Live Here+1 votes-Anonymous- from Someplace - 4 years ago

You've VotedRATE THIS COMMENTWhere do I start...
I got home from work one day and there was a bird in my apartment. I never open the windows so their explanation was that it came in through the duct work.
When we had the first heavy snow they didn't salt the sidewalk and took two days to even shovel. I fell in the parking lot, and slipped on the ice on the sidewalk. By the time they got around to plowing the parking lot the snow was up to my door.
Then the hall light ( there is only one) burnt out and it took them over two days after I told them to fix it.
And they do "not allow subleasing" to get out of their crappy apartments, and have very high fines for those who want to get out of the lease, because they don't hold up their end.
AND my car was vandilized on their property and they didn't even offer to help pay for the damages. It cost 300 dollars to have my windsheild replaced.
And all of the equipment in the fitness center is broke or does not work properly, and the pool is disgusting, because they dont clean it enough. One time I took my nephew and he didn't even want to get in because the water was green.Source: Apartment Ratings - Straight Up+1 votes-Anonymous- from Someplace - 4 years ago

You've VotedRATE THIS COMMENTManagement is nice but don't stick with their policies. Maintenance is a common problem with the apartments being so old and run down. A lot of white trash and college students causing late night problems. Vandalism another continual problem. One year was all I needed to find a bigger, better place for the money. Please, don't get screwed like I did!!

You've VotedRATE THIS COMMENTI've lived here quite a while without any problems. However, this place was recently taken over by new managment and it now it is quickly going down hill. Nohting is ever taken care of when requested. I'll be moving in the summer.

You've VotedRATE THIS COMMENTEven though the office staff seems very nice and concerned, the management group does not commit to their policies. We have complained over 5 times about our neighbor that parties like crazy past 3:00 a.m. in the morning with at least twelve of his buddies screaming, wrestling, drinking, spitting their bottles and cigarette butts onto the lawn and patio area in front of our screen door, while hollering and stomping their feet on purpose and making very lewd remarks about us out loud so everyone can hear, and management has done nothing. We even had to call the local police on him, and after each complaint, we have contacted the managent to let them know of our concerns, yet he remains there. The so called "three complaints and your out" policy has not been administered. The lighting along the sidewalks and up by the front entrance is almost non-existent, the bushes near the buildings have not been trimmed, there is trash along the bedroom windows outside, all the cupboards have a greasy film to it, the stove vent drips grease from it everytime we use it, the up stairs apartment lets water leak into our bathroom and the maintence guys even went up there to tell him to watch the water, but that fell on deaf ears and continues, the walls are so thin, you can hear people talking clearly, there are all types of bugs and spiders in the apartment, people have destroyed the lock on the front door and we specificaly told management what was wrong and the maintenance guy came and replaced the door knob, instead of fixing the latch (which is what we told them was broke)that the door knob goes into - it's still not fixed, and someone keeps putting bark chips in the door way so anyone can come into the apartment at any time. All of these things for the amount we pay do not justify the lack of commitment that the management group tells you at they follow.

You've VotedRATE THIS COMMENTI wouldn't recommend this place to my husband's crazy ex-girlfriend! If it isn't the "maintenance" guys sitting in the parking lot talking to each other for hours on end (I can see them from my windows), or the office staff losing my rent money (it accidently got put into the wrong account), then its the wiring going completely crazy. We had an electrical fire a few months ago, and I 'll bet more aren't far behind. The place was built in the 70's and 80's, and nothing has been upgraded since. The club house and pool look nice, but the apartments themselves are dated and dark. And, an especially relevant fact in this day and age, the furnaces are by and large original (so are the windows), so your heating bill can run you as much as $250 a month. That's what ours was one month last year, and we keep it COLD in there. Our front door can also be jimmied open with a woodchip, people! And, yes, I have complained (nicely) to the office. I've given up, and am moving in a month. So, I would highly suggest you overlook all the nice move-in deals they have going on, and go somewhere else!

You've VotedRATE THIS COMMENTAt first when I moved here it seemed like it was a good place to live, it is close to everything, my apartment had plenty of space and I had the option of having a pet if I wanted one(not that I could afford one with the price of rent. But after being here for a couple months I absolutely hate it! The apartments are very rundown, I have had problems with my bathroom lights ever since I moved in and they still have yet to fix it, there are cracks in the walls, the sinks constantly leak and there is rust all over my bathroom sink. The cupboards are disgusting and dirty, when I moved in I had to remove the roach poison that was in almost all of my cupboards. The closet doors are are to open and squeek. The spiral staircase is rusty and slippery and has paint splotches on it from the poor painting jobs. The halways stink of smoke and pets crap. The grounds a full of dog poop from people not cleaning up after their pets. Also the parking is horrible, good luck getting a spot that's decently close to your building!. Also this place is NOt SAFE AT ALL!!! The other day my car got broken into and I had my cd player and all of my cds stolen!!! And I wasn't the only one that night night, my neighbors car was also broken into. I would not recommed this place at all. It's not clean, safe, or maintained. I'm just waiting for my lease to end so I can get out of here!!!

You've VotedRATE THIS COMMENTI have lived here since 2002 (it's 2004) and there are still things that haven't been fixed since I moved in.
If you have no friends and never order out for food, this is probably a great place to live. Why' Because the doorbell that tells you someone is outside freezing their ass off waiting for you to push the button to unlock the door NEVER WORKS. But don't worry, it only takes a month to fix each time it breaks (see how many delivery places will come back after their dude stands outside in January pushing a non-working doorbell for five or ten).
Leaking sinks seem to be the norm here (I guess some people like the sound at night) and poor parking lot lighting lends your vehicle to vandals (maybe some tenants enjoy that, too).
Rent increases a couple of times a year, however, nothing ever gets done. Well, I shouldn't say that NOTHING gets done--take a look at that friggin' office of theirs! THAT is where your rent increases go.
You pay out the ass for heating because the insulation is so poor you can feel some pretty good drafts coming through the bedroom windows and your sliding door.
But, if you have a lot of money you don't know what to do with, LIVE HERE!
ONE MORE THING! Get everything--everything in writing. One manager tells you one thing and the other tells you another--and the first one won't back her original story up. So, if one tells you that they are offering a certain number of months lease, get it in writing. Because the other one will say it has to be a few more--a pretty clever way of KEEPING YOU THERE throughout the next rent increase. That extra couple of months will put a new cover on the "free" pool table in the office. Go somewhere else.

You've VotedRATE THIS COMMENTmy experience here has been absolute hell. My neighbors are awful, and ready to slap a noise violation on you at any time. I have had my toilets fixed 3 times and they're still broke. the maintence men are usless and fix the problems half-assed. the view is awful, my apartement smells like pot 24/7 because thats all the tenents do here.Oh, one more thing, there is dog poop all over the sidewalks, ect. because people are too lazy to pick it up. Dont move here!

You've VotedRATE THIS COMMENTThis place is hell. The leasing agents are very nice, (one of them anyhow), but the maintenance men are the most incompetant people you will ever meet. Throw in sh!tty neighbors, kids who scream all night, and horrible views from your patio, and you have yourself exactly what you DON'T want in an apartment. The grounds are ugly, the snow removal is horrid, the cabinets are old, so you can see why I cannot wait til our lease is up!!!

You've VotedRATE THIS COMMENTThis place is overpriced for it's age and the quality of it's services. We had a problem with our toilets and was told by the office that they would get to it whenever they had a chance and it has been 2 weeks. I would not recomend this place to anyone who who wants the most out of there money.
